I know that not everyone can read a shell script, but this came to me and lingered. For those that can, it’s been about a decade since I wrote one, so if my syntax is off, please forgive me. And yes, I realize that the first part of the if statement does nothing but create more variables. I had no idea of what else to do.

The whole purpose of this is to point out that IF the “fulfill” in Matthew 5:17 means anything related to ending (i.e. complete, accomplish) THEN there are other verses in the Bible that use the same word (in the Greek) and in a similar fashion that would also mean to bring to an end. These aren’t all the verses either. I just couldn’t fit everything in the panel and keep it readable.

On the verses I did point out, this can’t be the case of what was meant there. For example the Galatians verse would be saying the Law wasn’t fulfilled yet at the time of Paul writing that letter.

On the other hand, something that I wanted to add in but didn’t have the space, the Galatians verse points out what I have been trying to point out in several comics where I talk on fulfill’s meaning: it doesn’t mean one-and-done. It is like your marriage vows, you fulfill them every day. You don’t turn around on day 2 of your marriage and find someone else because “you fulfilled your marriage”.

Everyone seems to look at the Bible as a business contract, yet all over it shows our relationship with Yeshua is a marriage. When a marriage is fulfilled it isn’t ended, it grows and keeps being fulfilled. Every day.
