This has been on my mind for a little while now. When I scroll through social media, especially Facebook and instagram, I constantly have shared posts of these self proclaimed prophets either declaring they know what is really going on in the world right now, or that God is telling them you are about to get a huge blessing if you just “name it and claim it”. I even came across one that was starting their own community and stating those that wanted to join had to sell and donate to the cause. Even making the statement “if you have been blessed with more, God will require you to give more to cause”, all while sitting in front of a beautiful backyard with an inground pool.

This is where we have to dig in to what these folks are teaching. Anyone can stand up and say “God told me…” Deut. 13 even tells us there are those that come and make accurate predictions, or miracles, BUT if they are teaching against God’s commands, His Torah, it also says we are not to listen to them. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that have figured out people will send them money or things if they claim these prophetic ministries. Make sure you are testing everything. 1 Thess 5:21
