I have seen time and time again on arguments against following the Torah/God’s Instructions/Mosaic Law that it is walking in the flesh. “Paul tells us not to walk in the flesh anymore, why are you trying to walk by the flesh? Walk by the Spirit!”. However, when we examine Paul’s words this statement is the exact opposite of what Paul is preaching in his letters.

To walk by the flesh, according to Paul, you are breaking several of the commandments found in the Torah. Sexual immorality (Leviticus 18:4-23, 20:10-21, Deuteronomy 22:20-30), indecency (Leviticus 19:29, 21:7-9, Deuteronomy 23:17), uncleanness (Leviticus 5, 7, 10, 11, 12), idolatries (Leviticus 19:4, 26:1), etc… Walking in the Torah, which is walking in the Spirit (Romans 7:14) we walk in joy, peace, patience … love. Which is what all the Torah hangs on. The Torah does not saying anything against them. If you are not doing things in love, you are not following what God’s plan is for you. You are walking by the flesh.
