The earliest I can remember knowing about and “having an opinion” on an election was the Bush/Dukakis in ’88. I would have been 8 and I remember sitting in the school cafeteria with a bunch of other kids and we were talking about how one of the guys should win and how the other was evil. Election after election after that, that was always what was portrayed.
I remember the next election, the ’92 election, of being in such fear if one of the candidates won. That he was the antichrist and the Tribulation that the Bible spoke of would be upon us if he was elected. I remember crying in my room when I had heard anything suggesting that this candidate was going to win.
Here we are several elections later and the same rhetoric is being portrayed once again. Evil guy vs. Good Guy. A loud minority of the country sees their guy as the Good Guy and another loud minority of the country sees their guy as the Good Guy.
Are they really though?
