I had the opportunity to attend a local Shavuot celebration yesterday. There were a few really good speakers there. I don’t remember which one made this statement I am about to quote, but when they said it, this comic is what came to mind. “There was a husband and wife in a truck. The wife turns to the husband and says ‘do you remember how we used to sit next to each other all the time in this truck.’ He responds ‘I never moved.'” He went on to talk about how if there is a problem in our relationship with God, it is on our side, not His.
The passages I am relating to the comic are about paths. How he gives us instructions that are easy. How the ancient paths are the ways to follow. How the path is narrow and few find it. How he sends watchmen with trumpets to call us back and we say “we won’t listen”. What path are you taking?
