This one came to me during my worship time. I have seen so many people, Facebook pages, and videos out there dedicated to knocking down other believers. Most of these center around folks that see that all of the Bible is still valid for those that follow Jesus. The groups of Messianic Judaism, Natzarim, Hebrew Roots and those, like myself, who do not claim/belong to a group are being called out as cultists and heretics.
Just as with anything, there are the loud voices and then everyone else. The problem I have seen with this particular issue is that the loud voices are who everyone else seems to agree with. I know I have personally run into where people don’t even want to hear the Biblical backing for what I am doing. It isn’t what their church teachings so it must be wrong. Or it isn’t along the lines of what they believe the Bible says from them reading it.
As this comic shows and the Scripture backing it, those who are trying to live the WHOLE Bible are doing what Jesus said to do. They aren’t taking the New Testament and basing their beliefs on it first, then trying to understand the Old Testament. They are taking the foundation, the Old Testament, the Scriptures as Jesus, Paul, and Peter referred to it as, and understanding it and then taking that understanding and applying it to the New Testament. Just like the believers of Jesus’ time would have done. No one that I have met is doing this because someone told them to, or because of some leader they are following. They are taking the Word for what it says on walking like Jesus walked and doing just that.
Are there bad apples that are loud and condemn people? Just like everything else, yes. Just like you wouldn’t use the church that protests funerals to represent all churches, don’t let these others represent someone you know trying to find the truth.
